BGS Celebrate Outstanding Departmental Results

BGS Celebrate Outstanding Departmental Results

There are many superb departmental performances in our GCSE results.

While some ‘headlines’ are given below, these do not reflect the full extent of academic achievements but simply give a brief overview. Outstanding levels of academic and pastoral support – manifested in the amount of time colleagues devoted to supporting pupils – have led to some fabulous individual results which won’t necessarily make the headlines.

Perfect pass rates

Girls are enjoying a perfect 100% pass rate in:

Miss Elliott, Head of the English Faculty said, ‘It was a pleasure to celebrate such outstanding achievements with our pupils and their families. It is the ultimate privilege to see pupils who have worked so hard having their efforts rewarded with brilliant results, and to be able to share the occasion with the families who have supported them along the way. Our pupils should be so very proud of what they’ve achieved through their determination and resilience; I look forward to seeing them thrive as they embark on their journey through the Sixth Form.’

Boys are enjoying a perfect 100% pass rate in:

• Art, Computer Science, DT, English Language, English Literature, German, History, Latin, Maths (Higher), Music, PE and RS

Mr P O’Sullivan, Head of The Mathematics Faculty, said, 'We are delighted that so many of our student achieved outstanding mathematics results, allowing them to access their preferred post 16 choices - a huge number of them at BGS Sixth Form and many choosing to study Mathematics or Further Mathematics A Level. We expect many of our students to repeat their strong performance in mathematics over the next two years and to be celebrating equally successful A Level Mathematics results in the same building in two years' time. However, a strong mathematical grounding is vital for all careers and academic paths and we are pleased that these results, again, demonstrate that we provide this for all of our pupils.'
