This morning I was blown away by a fabulous assembly from Year 6. In all my time at BGS, I have never witnessed an assembly delivered with such composure and confidence from the boys. The incredible thing about it was that they did all of that and genuinely made the assembly incredibly funny! To marry all of these elements at such a young age is quite an achievement and I know that the parents and family members that attended were stunned at the quality of the boys' performances, alongside their ability to regale tales of their exploits on their Edale residential adventure. I am extremely proud of all of the boys for both the assembly and the way that they conducted themselves whilst at Edale. Well done boys and a huge thank you to the staff who took them away.
STOP PRESS: BREAKING NEWS: BGSB Junior Boys have made the final of the AJIS Pairs Cricket Tournament! As I write my weekly blog, news has just reached me that the boys have made it through to the final, date and opposition yet to be confirmed. Congratulations boys and another date to add to our already incredibly busy calendar!
All boys thoroughly enjoyed entering our annual House Quiz yesterday and a massive congratulations to... you can find out more in our further news section, along with further news on Languages and our impressive innovation boards!
The afternoon sees our Year 3 boys delivering their art work in the ‘Urban Pioneer Exhibition’. Having been to look around this morning, I am sure parents will love having the opportunity to view their son’s work. Children’s art is something quite special and I sincerely love their conceptual drawings of how they see the world around us, before the constraints of reality hit home with the dreaded age and experience. More news and pictures to follow next week.
The Year 6 boys immensely enjoyed dissecting a heart as part of their Science work this week. Going over to Senior School labs and taking part in the experiments laid on by our fabulous Biology Department has made memories that will last a lifetime, I am sure! Whilst they may have come back with a heightened knowledge and skills set, the only thing they could really speak of was the smell! My sincere thanks to all staff who helped arrange this fabulous experience for our super scientists!
A reminder that Tuesday 12th June has two very important events taking place in the Junior School calendar. Firstly, we have the Parents’ Forum which you are all warmly invited to attend. This will take place in the Junior School Library from 8.45-9.15am (coffee served from 8.20am). I very much look forward to seeing you and hearing your opinions and suggestions. Please email Mrs Howarth at firstname.lastname@example.org to confirm your attendance and put forward any agenda items. We also have our fabulous Making Reading Magical Event with details included in the flyer. I strongly urge you to attend what I truly believe will be a super event.
Have a fabulous weekend.
