Junior Girls and Infants dress up for World Book Day re-run

Due to the snow day last term, World Book Day was cut short so the staff and children in the Girls' Junior School and Infant School decided to complete their fun and activities again on Monday.

All the staff and children dressed up as their favourite book character and there were some fabulous costumes including Mr Bump, Gangster Granny and Harry Potter.

Each year group completed various book themed activities. EYFS held their own fairy tale themed party, with themed games, dancing and lots of fun.

Years 1 and 2 created and designed their own super villains based on the story Supertato and there were some fabulous ideas.

Years 3 and 4 created their own book covers and blurbs for their favourite stories looking closely at illustration and informing the reader.

Years 5 and 6 completed book reviews of their favourite texts and they were incredibly informative.

All the children enjoyed the various activities and have also been taking pictures to enter into our extreme reading competition.

Children have been reading whilst holding up the leaning tower of Pisa, riding horses, at football matches and in lots of other strange places. Can you read somewhere extreme too?
