Stars of the Week

Well done to this week's Stars of the Week!

Reception were delighted on their return to school after the bank holiday weekend to discover that their bean seeds had burst into life and started to grow roots.

We have a bean seed in the fridge being deprived of warmth, one in the store cupboard having no light and one in a dry jar with no water. The children were interested to discover that the seed without water had not started to grow at all and the other two were slightly behind their seeds that had warmth, light and water. We continue to watch with wonder and intrigue.

Year 1

The children have been very excited to welcome a new guest to Year 1 this week.

We have an egg which has appeared in the classroom. The children are eagerly waiting to see what hatches from it. Our dinosaur topic is in full swing and the children have been looking at different types and their special features. Please ask your children which is their favourite.
In Science, we have been walking around looking at the different plant life that grows in our school environment. The children have been looking at the different types of plants and flowers. See how many you can spot whilst out and about at the weekend.
Year 2

This week Year 2 had their Swimming Gala.

The children had all been practising hard and were very excited. All of the children performed excellently and it was a close fought competition between 2P and 2G. After front crawl, backstroke, relay and lots of fun races, 2G were crowned the winners. Miss Bird and Mr McGadie would like to say ‘Well done’ to everyone and a big “Thank you” to Mrs Barron and her team!
