Year 13 leavers celebrate exceptional university success

Bury Grammar School students are celebrating exceptional university success on the back of their record breaking A Level results yesterday. We are delighted that our Sixth Formers have secured places at top universities on highly competitive courses.

At the time of reporting the vast majority of our Sixth Formers have secured places at either their Firm or Insurance university.

Many of our students are set to embark on the next stage of their education at the prestigious Russell Group universities after securing places on extremely sought after courses.

In addition to these headlines, we are celebrating Oxbridge success after 2 of our students achieved a clean sweep of A* and A grades to secure their places at two of the world’s leading universities.

Elizabeth Ealing will read Physics at the University of Oxford after receiving an impressive four A* grades in Physics, French, Maths and Further Maths. Kate Higgins secured a place to read History with French at Cambridge University after achieving A* grades in both History and Politics and a grade A in French. We wish both girls they very best as they continue with their studies.

Congratulations once again to all our students who have made BGS very proud!

Our Sixth Form students are fortunate to be supported by an expert Sixth Form team who most constantly ensure that every student is placed on the right course for their professional ambitions and academic strengths. The level of success awarded to our students yesterday is the result of determined hard work from our students and staff alike, teamed with expert guidance, personal knowledge of our students and intelligent strategy from our Sixth Form team. The outcome has, yet again, been a very happy group of Sixth Form students who are looking forward to the next stages of their education beyond Bury Grammar School.

We would like to thank all of our Sixth Formers for the contributions they have made to our Bury Grammar School community, not just in the Sixth Form but in all areas of our family of schools. We are confident they leave us to embark on new challenges and to continue to make significant contributions to their chosen universities. They have acted as great role models for our younger pupils and we know that their success will inspire future BGS students to aim high.
