Two of our year nine pupils took part in the Oxford Union Debating Competition last week.
Theo and Archie, both regular members of Debating Society, travelled to Manchester Grammar School to participate in the competition.
The rules of the competition are the same rules that apply to debates in British Parliament, so as you can imagine, it was intense.
The BGS boys performed fabulously, particularly as they were one of the youngest teams taking part.
They fought their way through two fierce debates, airing their views articulately and persuasively.
It was a fantastic opportunity for the boys to develop their skills in debating and public speaking and to hear feedback from Oxford undergraduates who are experts in this field.
You should be proud of yourselves boys – we certainly are.
