A BGS Old Girl came back to School on Wednesday to undertake research for her Experimental Psychology & Neuroscience course at Oxford University, using BGS junior girls for her project.
Olivia Speakman, who left BGS in 2015, is now in her final year at Oxford and her research is being used in her undergraduate thesis.
The study is titled ‘The Influence of Feedback on Children’s Word Learning’, and is a project looking at how different learning conditions may help children to learn and retain new words that they hear.
She is aiming to publish my findings in scientific journals, which may take up to three years from the end of the study.
Olivia was kindly helped by Year 5 and 6 BGS junior girls, who one by one took part in the study.
