Year 11 boy Dan S represented the full Lancashire Under-15 Cricket Performance Team in all Royal London One day cup competitions this summer, scoring two fifties.
For his club, he has emerged as the leading run scorer both for the overall club and in his league, with three hundreds and a further eight fifties and was awarded the Cricketer Magazine Young Player of the Month for August. Well done, Dan!
Congratulations to Connie M (Year 11) who has been selected to be a part of the Manchester Thunder U17 Academy programme.
Manchester Thunder is the main Superleague Franchise in the North West and aims to develop and nurture talented athletes coming through the system. Connie will get the opportunity to play in England Netball competitions throughout the year, building on her previous selection and successes. All these competitions are used by England Netball to scout players.
In addition, Lucy J in (Year 10) has been selected for the Manchester Thunder Futures Programme and will now train weekly to continue to develop her skills, fitness and tactical understanding of the game.
We recognise that is a great honour to be selected into the Manchester Thunder Academy, and we are extremely proud of both Connie and Lucy.
This week saw the Start of the SnS National Netball Cup. The U16 squad played against AKS Lytham securing a comfortable win and the U14 Squad successfully defeated Birkenhead School with a final score of 45-22. (Picture of the U14 Squad below)
It was also the first set of Bury League Netball Matches against Parrenthorn High School on Tuesday night for the Y9 and 10 Squads. Again, both teams won comfortably and it was great to get the season underway in such bright and sunny conditions.
Congratulations to Kate P (Year 10) who has made the British Finals in Trampoling.
This is a culmination of a great season for Katie and we wish her all the best. Katie is one of only 11 girls in the country who has met the qualification criteria in the preliminary rounds in her age category. Good luck Katie!
