The Association of Junior Independent Schools (AJIS) Music Festival was again hosted by BGSG this week.
Ten school choirs from around the region were competing for the Dennison Trophy and were adjudicated by Mr John Powell, a local singer and conductor.
The standard of the singing was truly excellent and Mr Powell admitted that the decision was very difficult.
Although both BGSB and BGSG sang their two songs with great confidence and panache, it was Kirkham Grammar who won the trophy; it was the singing itself, however, which really won the day. It was a festival celebrating community singing and music making and everyone left with their spirits uplifted.
Both the Boys' and Girls' Junior School Choirs will be performing again this coming week at the Bury Grammar/ Bury Music Service Joint Concert.
