Four Year 10 girls – Mercy Akinyele, Amelia Busuttil, Clarissa Hui and Safiyah Patel – took a well-deserved first place in the annual Bury College Maths Challenge.
Competing against over 20 schools from the region, a BGS girls team and a BGS Boys team had to demonstrate their maths skills and problem-solving abilities in a series of fast-paced rounds, which included a maths relay race and a Countdown-style challenge.
The four girls, who were runaway winners, were presented with certificates and trophies, as well as each receiving a £20 Amazon voucher for their efforts. Well done girls!
The boys team consisted of Joe Atkinson, Ibrahim Gauhar, Daniel Robinson and Sami Khan.
