Boys' Sports Report - 18/01/2019

The U12s played out an exciting draw against Bolton School. Despite being three goals down after 15 minutes, BGS played some great football and showed a great attitude to fight back to 3-2 before half time, with 2 headers from Bradbury-Mitchell. A brilliant 2nd half free-kick from Flanagan brought the sides level, but BGS will rue missed chances to win the game at the end. Overall, a great performance.

The U13s gave an outstanding effort and account of themselves against Bolton. Going into the break at 1-1, bolton clinched a late lead just before the half. Following the restart bury began quietly and were punished but finished the game with a superb final 15 minutes and proved to themselves what they can achieve. A tremendous effort against a tough opposition.

The U13s Rugby team travelled to Bolton to face a very experience and talented side and quickly found themselves three tries down. Despite this they showed determination, aggression and a good team spirit and started to dominate possession in dangerous areas. A well worked try in the backs sent over Alex El-Jouzi in the corner and this was quickly followed up with a sterling effort from the forwards who muscled over Year 7 Ewan Greenhalgh for a try under the posts. Although it was not quite enough to win the game it meant that the boys walked off the pitch with their heads held high and the reputation of BGS rugby intact.
