EYFS Update - 06/07/2018

The Reception children have had a busy week again, with their transition day on Monday and their performances! What a way to end the term!

The children in Reception have taken to Year 1 fantastically, and thoroughly enjoyed their time in their new class on Monday. There has been a real buzz around the classrooms, as they prepare for the new rooms, teachers and timetables. I hope you all enjoyed the opportunity to meet their new teacher and visit the classroom if you were able to attend.

A super time was had by all who were in our pirate performance. The children really enjoyed the opportunity to be in front of such a  crowd, with the Infant children. Opportunities such as this enable the children to build their confidence and get involved with the rest of the school. It was wonderful to see their faces when they caught sight of a family member or friend in the crowd and their gusto with their singing was great to hear!

Well done to all!

It’s all change in the Pre-School, some children moving to Reception, some children saying goodbye and some preparing the areas for their new friends.
The children who visited their new Reception class this week had a wonderful time. They explored their new surroundings, met their new teacher and had a lot of fun getting to know Reception. We will continue to work on transition over the coming days.

We have been very lucky this week to have taken delivery of some of the outdoor items for the Pre-School and Reception areas. From trees and flowers to outdoor equipment, it’s all go! We have a wide variety of plant life for the children to explore which will add to their curriculum and further enhance the Gardening Club! The children will be helping us to design and set up the outdoor areas, as with it being their area they will have some fantastic ideas of their own.

Kind regards,
