Kindergarten has had a fabulous week of celebrating.
Firstly, we celebrated completing our first academic week of 2019 and the fun we have had!
It has been wonderful to witness friendships forming and the children becoming accustomed to their new surroundings.
We awarded our first ‘Star of the Week’ to Georgina and we celebrated the birthday of Roald Dahl.
We listed his famous stories and focused our day around the brilliant tale of ‘James and the Giant Peach.’
In true Kindergarten style, we made peach crumble which was truly delicious and as I am sure all our parents will agree!
“My dear young fellow,' the Old-Green-Grasshopper said gently, 'there are a whole lot of things in this world of ours you haven't started wondering about yet.”
― Roald Dahl, James and the Giant Peach
Reception have had a fabulous first full week in school!
We have all been very busy, meeting new people, making friends and learning lots.
To finish off our week, we celebrated Roald Dahl Day.
We explored lots of different Roald Dahl characters and stories and looked closely at James and the Giant Peach.
The children loved discussing and describing the different characters and some children drew fantastic pictures.
On Friday, we baked: we made our own peach crumbles and enjoyed eating them with lots of custard!
Although we got a little messy, we had fun and learnt lots. What a busy week!
