To begin our newsletter this week I would like to share an excerpt from an email I received yesterday from a local business provider who host ‘Paint a Pot parties’. The lady felt compelled to inform us how impressed she was with a party of our Year 5 girls and I’m sure you will agree, it speaks for itself. ‘They had beautiful manners, behaved kindly and respectfully to those around them, were very helpful and sensible, and had fun and laughter whilst including all friends. I really wanted to bring to your attention how wonderful this group of girls were and what exemplary behaviour they showed which is a massive credit to both their families and school.’
On a daily basis I find myself in awe of the wonders the children bring to our school and so when a member of the wider community feels compelled to share their views, I feel overwhelmed with pride. The girls themselves of course went about their business ‘as usual’ and looked almost confused when I commended them, because of course as we all know, our children are always well-mannered, polite and absolutely fabulous! Thank you also to our parents for having such lovely children to share with us.
We welcomed our contemporaries to the annual AJIS Quiz on Saturday. To echo the sentiments above the girls were delightful and proved to be a force to be reckoned with: Emmeline Pankhurst would have been proud. Congratulations go to our Boys' Junior School who came a creditable 3rd. Special thanks to Mrs Hankinson who put together the quiz and was an outstanding quizmaster.
Year 3’s assembly this morning was very enjoyable giving us a clearer understanding of the Winter Olympics. I am hoping we have some future Olympians in our midst. I was very impressed with their knowledge and inspirational mascots!
Effort Grades are going out today, please discuss these with your child and also your child’s form teacher should you have any questions.
Parents' Evening letters will be sent out this afternoon, please complete the tear off slip as soon as possible to secure a suitably convenient time.

Thank you to the NSPCC for coming into school this week. The children have been busy making bracelets for sale next week. The bracelets are £1 – we would be grateful for your support.
