Congratulations to the Year 10 and 11 Netball teams who were victorious in the end of season Bury Netball Rallies on Tuesday evening.

Both tournaments for each year group were held at Bury Grammar School on a very blustery and cold evening. In difficult conditions, both teams played with great composure against tough opposition from local schools.

The Year 11 team played in a round robin tournament against teams from St Monicas, Woodhey, Tottington, Philips and St Gabriel's. The team were unbeaten throughout the evening and posted some impressive scores in 12-minute matches.

Congratulations to Kate B, Mercy A, Bolanle A, Isabel S, Lucy W, Sophie T, Jorja F and Lucy L.

The Year 10 team faced tough opposition in their round matches against Castlebrook, St Gabriels and Elton.

Defensively, the team held strong and they went through to the semi finals as winners of their their group to face St Monica's whom they beat 3-0 in very windy conditions.

They came up against Bury Church in the final. It went goal for goal in the first half but Bury were able to pull away in the second half and sealed victory, winning 8-5.

Though the result did not go in our favour, the girls stood up strong and contested every pass.

The standard of netball at U19 level is extremely high and we are extremely proud of our top four place in the County.
