It has been somewhat of a Christmassy week in the Junior School. There have been rehearsals galore in readiness for our Back to the Future Christmas. Boys have been learning lines, songs and music in order to perform to their best for the BGS family. The concert is my favourite event of the year and I know the boys enjoy it immensely. I am positive that you will enjoy the show.
It was most certainly a festive theme on Thursday as the boys (and staff!) donned their Christmas jumpers in aid of Mission Christmas and Porch Boxes. There were some fabulous outfits on show and I know the boys had a lot of fun in aid of worthy causes. It was also Christmas dinner today with the boys treated to a plate of festive favourites. Huge thanks to the catering staff for not only the lunch today, but also the incredible job they do in providing healthy and appetising lunches every single day!
Congratulations to our weekly housepoint winners and particular praise for our termly winners who have gained very respectable totals. Over 33000 housepoints have been awarded this term; that is a great deal of fabulous work, incredible manners, superb hard-work and encouraging perseverance!
The pantomime visits us on Wednesday 20th December (oh yes they do!) to perform Oliver Twist. Boys received a letter yesterday with a reply slip; please ensure replies are sent in as soon as possible. I know this will be another fantastic experience for the boys.
You should today have received your son’s Interim Report. I hope you find the update on their progress a useful one, and look forward to receiving your feedback sheets. If you wish to contact us to discuss the report in further detail, please contact your son’s form tutor or myself.
There has been a great deal of other events happening this week; you can read more in our further news section – please take a look. In a first for the Junior School, our award winning choir will be performing at The Rock in Bury on Tuesday (19 December) lunchtime at 12.30pm; if you are on a lunch break, please pop in and have a listen!
Have a relaxing weekend and I hope to see you on Monday for our Christmas Concert.
