Year 1 have had a very creative week.
They have been looking at, drawing and painting big cats using fine brushes to add detail, in Humanities. The children were amazing at this skill and really impressed the teachers with their finished pieces.
In art they continued to work on their zoo animals by drawing large pictures and giving them colour through the use of tissue. They carefully layered the tissue and created some superb animals, which they are going to continue working on this week. 1A is a very artistic class!
In Maths, Year 2 have been doubling numbers and using known number bonds to ten to work out large addition calculations.
In Science, pupils have been observing the change in our class caterpillars. They are growing steadily and soon will be moving into the chrysalis stage of their life cycle. Year 2 are also creating a class castle to go on display, using collage materials and paint and can’t wait to see their finished results.
