Senior Girls' Sports Report - 19/10/2018

Congratulations to the Year 10 Netball team who beat Cheadle Hulme 37-22 to progress to round 3 of the SnS National Netball Cup.

Some outstanding shooting put the team ahead from the first whistle and the girls never looked back. A well contested game in every quarter meant BGS had to hold their nerve.. thankfully they did, playing with poise and flair!

Let’s continue to aim high. The sky is the limit!

Well done to the Senior Netball squad who beat Kings Macclesfield in Round 2 of the SnS National Netball Cup.

A great squad effort demonstrating physical prowess and endeavour. The team stormed into an 8-1 lead and never looked back. The final score was 46-35.

Congratulations to the U16 Netball team who beat Bradford Grammar 30-11 in the second round of the SnS National Netball Cup. A great defensive display by Mercy Akinyele boosted the team to drive the ball down court and shoot at goal with confidence.

Roll on round 3!

Bury league match v Parrenthorn

Year 8 won 27-5

Last Sunday (7th October), I competed at the National Inter-Counties swim meet, where all the Counties in England and Scotland/Wales East and West also compete (37 Counties in total).

It is a very highly competitive event with the best of each County competing against one another to become National County champions.

I competed in the 100m backstroke 14/15 year old age group and came 15th,  but in my age group I came 6th, achieving a 0.49 secs pb. I also competed in the 4x50m Individual Medal Relay, where Lancashire came 9th. Overall Lancashire came 12th in Division.
