Sixth formers Kate Higgins and Isobel Lewis gave a presentation in Assembly about their involvement with the Holocaust Educational Trust.
The girls had attended several seminars and visited the concentration camps in Auschwitz and Birkenau.
They were keen to relay the messages which they felt were so important to share as a result of their experiences.
BGSG always encourages our pupils to have a voice, and Kate and Isobel were emphatic about the need to speak out against intolerance and hate.
They were keen to share their knowledge of the events of the Holocaust to help ensure that it is never forgotten.
As history students, the girls felt that George Santayana summed up the importance of never forgetting the Holocaust when he said ‘those who cannot remember history are condemned to repeat it.’
Kate and Isobel certainly delivered a memorable and thought-provoking Assembly.
