Update from the Head of Girls' Juniors and Infants - 24/11/2017

Dear Parents

Despite the very wet and cold weather we have all experienced this week the children have continued to work hard both in and out of the classroom; Year 4 were so engrossed in counting items in the playground for the bar charts they were producing, they hadn't noticed the rain and were very disappointed when Mrs Howard decided it was time to go in. It is lovely to have such enthusiastic children!

Pre-School are just as keen to be outside and their Welly Walks are back on the calendar, so please come along and meet at the blue Infants entrance gate, every Friday morning from 10-11am. Parents and grandparents are welcome, and don't forget to bring your wellies. Our walks are usually curriculum related and are a great time for the children to get out of the classroom and explore the grounds of BGS and at times further afield. We hope that you can join us!

5N led our Assembly on Friday morning as a follow-up to 'Anti-Bullying Week' last week. 5N's Class assembly saw the girls performing the full-version of Alan Ahlberg's 'Heard it in the Playground'. The children were asked to think about how much of the poem applied to them and to remember that everyone is responsible for their own words and actions.

Thank you to all those Infant and Junior pupils who helped out, in so many different ways, at the Craft fair. Our thanks also go to all the parents who supported the event either by organising and running stalls or by coming along to support us. It is very much appreciated.

The Parents' Association are also organising their popular Secret Santa for the Infant and Junior pupils again this year. Everyone should have received a letter home for this event which takes place on 7 December.

Now that the nights are drawing in and visibility can be poor, please can I ask all parents to be especially vigilant when using the car park to ensure that all our children are kept safe. Please can you also think of the risks to health when car engines are left running in the car park as we have a number of children with asthma and the fumes can aggravate their condition.

The Christmas trees are now up around School and our concert rehearsals are starting with earnest.

For your convenience below are the dates of all the performances in the Infants and Junior Girls.
