Miss Gemma Ashcroft, a talented double bass player, came to Bury Grammar School to demonstrate her instrument to the children recently.
She used a double bass quiz to help question and teach the children. After a while, once they knew the facts, Gemma chose some volunteers to have a go at it themselves. They learnt about a range of things from the spike to the scroll.
Alongside Miss Ashcroft was Miss Britton, who was there to give out stickers!
Despite the double bass being near-enough abolished, this visit has encouraged children to play it as it is educational and most of all it is FUN!
