Stars of the Week

In one of the Reception PE lessons this week, we have been working with the parachute. As well as being fantastic fun, the parachute promotes social interaction and is a great activity equally accessible to all abilities. The parachute activities strengthen the upper torso and improve core control. The children move in rhythm and learn to take turns and follow instructions. The shared positive experience enhances our sense of involvement and belonging within the class.

Year 1

In Year 1 this week we have been sorting different objects and looking at number formation. We have sorted objects according to shape and properties. Both classes have taken their learning outside: our number formation is certainly coming along after we created giant number lines on our playground.

Year 2

In PSHE this week, Year 2 have been discussing the importance of being kind to others. We came up with different situations where it might be difficult to be kind, then thought of some solutions to solve the problems. The children created their own plays in small groups before acting out these scenarios to the rest of the class.
