What's been happening in the Infant School 28/09/2018

This week in Reception, we have been practising our handwriting. During Penpals sessions, we have been having fun developing our gross and fine motor skills by taking part in class warm up exercises.

We have enjoyed doing ‘Scribble disco’ and using our interactive whiteboard to help with the formation of the long ladder letter family. We are making fabulous progress with our name writing.

Year 1

Year 1 have been discussing ‘Healthy Eating’ and ‘Making Choices’ in their PSHE lessons. The children have supported their work by playing a game of ‘Greedy Gorilla’ as one of this week’s T-Rex tasks.

Year 2

Year 2 have been learning all about life cycles as part of their Science topic. This week, they were able to watch eggs hatch in an incubator, producing six healthy chicks. The children were amazed to see how they slowly made their way out of the shells and this sparked some brilliant discussions. They were curious about how quickly they were able to walk and are all excited to see the chicks continue to grow.
