Girls have been researching their own topics on the Anglo-Saxons in Year 5.
They have also made their own brooches. The girls learnt how jewellery was worn by women and men in Anglo-Saxon times.
Their inspiration for their designs were usually from Germany. Jewellery was a sign of wealth and status. Jewellery was given as gifts and payment. Brooches were used to hold garments together on their shoulders.
