In the Sixth Form, there is a co-ordinated approach to Careers Education and Guidance led by a highly experienced team. Post-18 options include, UCAS applications, Apprenticeships, Study Abroad or Gap Year experiences.
BGS sixth formers get specialist help for the rigorous university admissions tests, such as the BMAT, LNAT and UKCAT. All students in Year 13 have the experience of a formal mock interview; these are conducted by university tutors, as well as many individuals from professions and local businesses. We encourage students to visit universities and to attend courses, such as the Cambridge Law Conference.
Sixth Form students can hone their debating and leadership skills, whilst exploring potential careers, by taking part in numerous events and competitions, for example, the Sir Rhys Davies Mock Law Trial and the Young Enterprise competition. We also recognise the importance of relevant work experience, which allows young people to develop their skills whilst at the same time exploring their career options carefully.
