Here at BGSG we are very proud of the number of extra-curricular activities we offer – over 50! These activities play an important role in our pupils’ development.
An extra-curricular fair is held early in the Autumn Term during which girls are encouraged to sign up to do new activities and regular participation in activities contributes towards completion of a Key Stage 3 Diploma for Years 7-9 pupils.
We believe it is essential for students to develop their talents outside lesson time in sport, music, drama or a myriad of other activities and encourage all pupils to make a positive contribution both to their school and to their community.
Students develop positive relationships, self-awareness and enterprise through team and group activity and extra-curricular activities do much to develop friendships between pupils, offer scope for developing leadership and teamwork skills and foster a lively atmosphere and sense of community.
In the Senior school alone we have over 50 clubs and activities at lunchtimes or after school.
The most recent additions include Irish Dancing, Outdoor Biology Club, Pet Club, History Buffs and Mindfulness Meditation; there is also an extensive range of music and sporting activities every day of the week, as well as German Klub, Books into Film, Business Games Club and various science clubs taking place weekly.
